Center Harbor Food Pantry Needs Food, Freezers, Refrigerators, A Truck & VOLUNTEERS!

The Center Harbor Food Pantry serves over 400 families in over 22 NH communities and has a severe need for food donations, volunteers and a reliable; preferably refrigerated truck to enable us to make over 17 weekly food runs to donors such as Hannaford's, The Boy Scouts, three schools, Moulton Farms, the state food distribution center in Manchester and various individuals.
Many low income families and individuals are still unable to qualify for food stamps; therefore pantries across the state fill a very critical need. The Center Harbor Food Pantry distributes over 20,000 pounds of food per month but we could easily distribute over 40,000 pounds of food per month due to our ever increasingly high demand.
Fresh fruits and vegetables are offered by the Center Harbor Food Pantry; making these available is not only a lot of work for volunteers to pick up, haul, unload and sort, but these items require refrigeration to keep them from spoiling.  Due to these constraints, many food pantries do not offer much produce to their clients.  The three antiquated refrigerators we have could literally fail at any moment in time.  Without cold storage for the produce, struggling families will lose a source of nutrients and calories in order to maintain health...and sustain life.
The 1,350 square foot pantry contains eight antiquated freezers...two of which recently failed.  A reliable truck(s), preferably a refrigerated box truck is urgently needed to replace the privately owned vehicle currently in use, which is close to complete mechanical failure and with zero financial means to maintain or replace it.
Please help the Pantry to continue on our dedicated mission of feeding the hungry and those in need in our communities; any donation, whether it be large or small truly does have a tremendous impact.
